An original VOCALOID song selection.

Not usual but here is a cool VOCALOID song or should I say VOCAROCK song.

Unfortunately, I didn’t find a lot of information on yuyoyupe but he’s mainly a VOCAROCK composer. I recommend to listen also to Yuyoyupe feat. Hatsune Miku – Despair, because these two songs  (Hope and Despair) goes “together” and can be considered as a unique song.

I’ll also put the vocal cover by DECO*27 that I introduced last week.

Sunday’s VOCALOID: Railroad Crossing

An original VOCALOID song selection.

Totally different style from wowoka, millstones is much more electro-pop. He has the gift to create addicting intro which makes you want to listen the entire song. Original thing this time, we don’t have 1 but 3 singers: Hatsune Miku, Megurine Luka, GUMI.

This VOCALOID composer was already featured here with “Kanou Sekai no Rondo“, his new song is titled “Railroad Crossing“. His new song has reached rank 11 in VOCALOID RANKING #128 this week just before Dixie Flatline – Just Be Friends.

The video is not complete (only 3min), I don’t know why. The entire song duration is about 6min and can be downloaded for free !

Bio:

Millstones is originally a producer of non-Vocaloid MAD in which he uses his original music. He has some hit works of MAD which got tens of thousands of view counts. On the other hand, his Vocaloid works could not get more than 3,000 view counts for a long time although he produced 6 Vocaloid works since Nov.2008. In Dec.2009, his 7th Vocaloid work got tens of thousands of view counts suddenly.

A other VOCALOID song, I’ve listened a lot this week, it’s titled! “Just Be Friends“.

This time the song is featuring Megurine Luka (N°3) and not Hatsune Miku (N°1). At first it’ll sound weird for non-Luka fans but I definitively recommend this song for those who like Electo/Pop genre. If you don’t like Electro check the Piano version available on Youtube.

Bio:

Dixie Flatline (ジェミニの人, Gemini no Hito) is skillful in composing relaxing electronica ballads, hip-hop, and R&B. He is the author of the hit song “Gemini,” his first work. His popularity has remained stable since then; his songs “Sweetie x 2”, “Juvenile”, and “Just Be Friends” have all gained considerable popularity. His name comes from a character in the SF novel “Neuromancer” by William F. Gibson, which he likes. Though he is called the “Gemini no Hito” (person of Gemini) it is only because of the popularity of his song “Gemini”: he is actually a Virgo.

Apple ‘It’s Only Rock and Roll’ Event

Apple has posted a podcast [iTunes Link] and QuickTime stream for yesterday”s media event which brought a number of new announcements:

– Apple Releases iTunes 9: New Media Syncing Options, Genius Mixes, iPhone App Organization
– Apple’s Focus on Games: Madden NFL 10, Nova, Assassin’s Creed, Riddim Ribbon
– Apple Updates Entire iPod Family, Bringing Capacity and Performance Bumps to iPod Touch and Video Camera to iPod Nano
– Apple Releases iPhone OS 3.1 for iPhone and iPod Touch

Annoying behavior from the Majors

Sony has removed (not directly) YUI – It’s all too much PV from streaming websites few hours after the PV was available on various fansites, forums and P2p websites.

In the same time I noticed that many of my older videos of L’Arc~en~Ciel, AKFG, Angela Aki and Aqua Timez were also removed ! This behaviour, really pissed me off !

So I decided to write this article which try is describe how stupid act the Majors against the fans and why sharing is not a crime.

Majors music industry has no idea what they will lose by fighting with the fans. In the same time I call for a boycott of Sony’s next releases such as YUI – It’s all too much, Angela Aki – Ai no Kisetsu, Aqua Timez Best Of.

(This article is mainly based on my own experience.)

New Audio formats: CMX and Cocktail

I just came through an interesting article reporting that the Major industry will launch an new audio format named: ‘CMX’ or ‘Cocktail’ for Apple.

This new format will be a file that you click on, it opens and it would have a totally brand-new look, with a launch page and all the different options such as lyrics, artworks, videos or even mobile contents.

Now it’s interesting to see if it will includes DRM or not and how much it will cost for the customers.

The first CMX albums are expected to be released in November.

To remind you, Sony has launched its new CD format, the Blu-Spec. I don’t have this kind of CD so I can’t give you feedbacks on it yet.

Actual CDs are encoded in 16 bits at 44.1kHz. Today with new audio supports we can numerized at 24 bits or even at 32 bits with higher bitrate 88.2, 96, 176.4, or 192 kHz. It allows to get more detailed and dynamic sound.
